Maggie's Snow Day
As the old saying goes, the more things change the more they remain the same. A couple of weeks ago my daughter was graciously granted a snow day by the Akron Public Schools. Although the weather was bad, it didn't seem to be bad enough for a snow day. I'm pretty sure that the school figured this was the last chance they would have to sneak in a free day before spring—not that I am at all opposed to such reasoning. Of course, as with most kids, the novelty of the snow day eventually wears off as the day progresses. Unfortunately, Maggie is a bit of an overachiever in the boredom department. Here is the schedule of her snow day:
7:45 AM Maggie wakes to the awesome news of a day off from school.
8:15 AM she had eaten breakfast and watched a little TV.
8:30 AM she was bored.
8:35 AM Maggie decides to shovel snow in her pajamas.
I suppose there are worse ways to combat boredom.
