As the old saying goes, the more things change the more they remain the same. A couple of weeks ago my daughter was graciously granted a snow day by the Akron Public Schools. You really have to love the hypocrisy and the chutzpah of someone that can tell a country with a successful socialized insurance system that they ought try things our way—particularly when more Americans than ever are heading to Canada for health care.

It is amazing just how prescient the writers of the West Wing were when they wrote this monologue. The commentary on the state of politics could have been taken from Meet the Press or Face the Nation. Life imitating art.
